Windler was created by the same development team behind Painted Prairie, with the same vision for connected, community-centered living.

Paper PR (formerly HipCat Media) joined the marketing team from the very beginning in 2022 — the same collaborators from Painted Prairie, brought in before a single home had been built.

The role has spanned launch strategy, event coordination, builder and media relations, and ongoing community engagement as Windler has grown from groundbreaking to an active, recognizable development.

The Partnership

Groundbreaking, September 2022

Paper PR coordinated Windler's official groundbreaking event for both media and the public, marking the start of the community before any residents had moved in. The event earned local coverage from Aurora TV.

What That Looked Like

The E-470 & 48th Interchange Grand Opening, March 2025

Paper PR helped coordinate the grand opening of the E-470 and 48th Avenue interchange — a major infrastructure milestone connecting Windler to the broader region. The ribbon-cutting event brought together the mayor, city council members, and the surrounding community, with coverage from the City of Aurora's local channel.

The Windler Welcome Wagon

Paper PR manages the Windler Welcome Wagon, a converted 30-foot RV serving as the community's mobile sales hub. Complete with a coffee-and-snack window, fly-through videos of the development, the community's brand anthem, and a seating area where visitors can browse available homes, the Welcome Wagon travels to Windler's parks and different events throughout the community to give prospective residents a hands-on feel for what's to come. Paper PR oversees the program day-to-day — sales staff briefings, maintenance, marketing materials, and special event staffing — and occasionally drives it personally.

A National Sustainability Story

During Colorado Public Radio/NPR's Climate Solutions Week, a reporter reached out after speaking with one of Windler's architects about the reclaimed wood, metal, and brick salvaged from the community's original homestead and reused throughout the construction of 1881 Park. Paper PR prepared developer Chris Fellows for the interview, and the resulting story told a distinctly Windler angle: sustainable development rooted in honoring what came before.

By the Numbers.

The work stays hands-on, because that's what building trust in a place people are moving to actually requires.

Windler has grown from an empty groundbreaking site into an active, recognized community — not through a single campaign, but through consistent presence: at ribbon-cuttings, in the community's parks, and in the stories told about what makes the development different.
